About Barcamp

BarCamp is a unique international conference for specialists in new media, blogging, podcasting, social networking, citizen journalism, web projects development, web 2.0 concept, open source software, mobile phone Internet connection and everything else linked with listed above.
BarCamp is an international network of conferences formed by presentations and messages of participants themselves. Starting from 2005, BarCamp conferences are held in many countries and cities of the world. Professionals and amateurs from the IT-industry meet at these conferences to share experience, discuss the latest tendencies, exchange their contacts and so on.

Rules

You do talk about Bar Camp.
You do blog about Bar Camp.
If you want to present, you must write your topic and name in a presentation slot.
Only three word intros.
As many presentations at a time as facilities allow for.
No pre-scheduled presentations, no tourists. The organizers of the barcamp are it’s own participants!
Presentations will go on as long as they have to or until they run into another presentation slot.
If this is your first time at BarCamp, you HAVE to present. (Ok, you don’t really HAVE to, but try to find someone to present with, or at least ask questions and be an interactive participant.)

Barcamp schedule

February, 6thArrival, lodging and registration in Reval Hotel Latvija starting at 1 PM.
Unofficial opening, Friday party at 8 PM.
February, 7thThe morning starts at 10 AM. Presentations day in six rooms till 7 PM.
Great BarCamp party at 9 PM.
February, 8th Starting at 11 AM some nice presentations made by guru (more info later).
2 PM - 6 PM - BarCamp Idol!
Plus survivors party!

BarCamp Idol!

Innovation Incubator held last year during Barcamp changes into Barcamp Idol! - competition show for start-ups.

Start-ups and ideas would be judged (estimated) by jury of experts and one can get a prize if win, of course! :)

Since the funding of the BarCamp is always a touchy question and due to the latest world economic downturn barcamp organizers have decided to create a LogoWall. Never heard about it? Well, LogoWall is a virtual wall that currently has 100 spare places – all for your logo! You can buy one spare place for USD 100 (LVL 50, EUR 70). Please note that the number of places on the LogoWall one person can buy is unlimited (within reason that is – we have only 100 places!)
Do you have an interesting project and you want everyone to know about it? Or you own a small business, probably a web design company? LogoWall is the best advertising idea ever if you are ready to spare 100, 200 or even 500 US Dollars – if you are prepared to advertise for the target audience!
